Santa Ana Prayer Times

Prayer Times in Santa Ana, California

Prayer times in Santa Ana are worked out each day from the city's coordinates (33.75°N). We use the ISNA method, the one followed across California. The five times shift by a minute or two each day as the sun moves. The full month is listed below.

Santa Ana's times use the ISNA method. That is the standard used by most mosques in California and across the United States. They are drawn from Santa Ana's own coordinates (33.7455°N, 117.8677°W). The schedule updates automatically at midnight, with no manual setting.

How Santa Ana's prayer times are worked out

From Santa Ana, the Qibla is 24° from true north. Face northeast to pray toward the Kaaba. It lies 13,441 km (8,352 miles) away in a straight line across the globe. Every time on this page is worked out from Santa Ana's own coordinates (33.75°N, 117.87°W), not a national average. That is why Santa Ana's times and its Qibla differ a little from cities a short distance away.

One local quirk shapes the Santa Ana timetable: midday prayer does not land at 12:00. Santa Ana lies well west inside its Los Angeles time zone. So the sun peaks about 60 minutes after clock noon. Dhuhr follows the sun, not the clock — today it falls at 12:37 PM. Across the year, the fast here runs from about 15h 48m near June down to 11h 09m in December.

The Fajr and Isha angles for Santa Ana come from the Islamic Society of North America. The ISNA method sets Fajr when the sun is 15° below the horizon, and Isha at 15°. Use ISNA's 15° instead and Fajr here would move by several minutes. So the method — not the coordinates alone — settles the final time. We also publish times for nearby Anaheim, Long Beach and Los Angeles. Each is only a few minutes off Santa Ana's clock.
