What we do

Prayer Times Near Me calculates accurate Islamic prayer times for any location in the United States. Open the site, allow location access (or select your city), and you immediately see today's Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha times — with a live countdown to the next prayer.

Every time is calculated using the adhan.jslibrary — the same battle-tested, open-source engine trusted by developers building Islamic apps worldwide. We default to the ISNA (Islamic Society of North America) method because it's what most US mosques use, and we support six additional methods so you can match exactly what your local mosque follows.

How we verify accuracy

Prayer times are not a simple lookup — they are computed from the sun's position relative to a specific latitude and longitude, using a chosen calculation method. We cross-validate every city against IslamicFinder.org and MuslimPro to ensure our times are within 1–2 minutes of the established references.

If you ever find a discrepancy between our times and your mosque's schedule, it almost always comes down to the calculation method your mosque uses. Switch the method in the Settings panel on any city page — the correct method is usually listed in your mosque's prayer schedule.

What we believe about this work

Prayer times sit at the intersection of astronomy and worship. Getting them right is not optional — they determine when an obligation begins. We take that seriously. This is not a side project that gets abandoned. We monitor every city's calculation monthly, update the engine when the underlying library is improved, and maintain the site with that same standard of care.

We're a small, independent team of builders — some of us Muslim, all of us committed to building something the community can rely on. We have no VC funding, no ad-based incentives to keep you clicking, and no data-harvesting business model. The site is free, it stays free, and the only thing we want from you is feedback if something is wrong.
