Anaheim Prayer Times

Prayer Times in Anaheim, California

Prayer times in Anaheim are worked out each day from the city's coordinates (33.84°N). We use the ISNA method, the one followed across California. The five times shift by a minute or two each day as the sun moves. The full month is listed below.

Anaheim's times use the ISNA method. That is the standard used by most mosques in California and across the United States. They are drawn from Anaheim's own coordinates (33.8366°N, 117.9143°W). The schedule updates automatically at midnight, with no manual setting.

How Anaheim's prayer times are worked out

From Anaheim, the Qibla is 24° from true north. Face northeast to pray toward the Kaaba. It lies 13,434 km (8,347 miles) away in a straight line across the globe. Every time on this page is worked out from Anaheim's own coordinates (33.84°N, 117.91°W), not a national average. That is why Anaheim's times and its Qibla differ a little from cities a short distance away.

One local quirk shapes the Anaheim timetable: midday prayer does not land at 12:00. Anaheim lies well west inside its Los Angeles time zone. So the sun peaks about 60 minutes after clock noon. Dhuhr follows the sun, not the clock — today it falls at 12:37 PM. Across the year, the fast here runs from about 15h 49m near June down to 11h 08m in December.

The Fajr and Isha angles for Anaheim come from the Islamic Society of North America. The ISNA method sets Fajr when the sun is 15° below the horizon, and Isha at 15°. Use ISNA's 15° instead and Fajr here would move by several minutes. So the method — not the coordinates alone — settles the final time. We also publish times for nearby Santa Ana, Long Beach and Los Angeles. Each is only a few minutes off Anaheim's clock.
