Riverside Prayer Times

Prayer Times in Riverside, California

Prayer times in Riverside are worked out each day from the city's coordinates (33.98°N). We use the ISNA method, the one followed across California. The five times shift by a minute or two each day as the sun moves. The full month is listed below.

Riverside's times use the ISNA method. That is the standard used by most mosques in California and across the United States. They are drawn from Riverside's own coordinates (33.9806°N, 117.3755°W). The schedule updates automatically at midnight, with no manual setting.

How Riverside's prayer times are worked out

From Riverside, the Qibla is 25° from true north. Face northeast to pray toward the Kaaba. It lies 13,399 km (8,326 miles) away in a straight line across the globe. Every time on this page is worked out from Riverside's own coordinates (33.98°N, 117.38°W), not a national average. That is why Riverside's times and its Qibla differ a little from cities a short distance away.

One local quirk shapes the Riverside timetable: midday prayer does not land at 12:00. Riverside lies well west inside its Los Angeles time zone. So the sun peaks about 58 minutes after clock noon. Dhuhr follows the sun, not the clock — today it falls at 12:35 PM. Across the year, the fast here runs from about 15h 50m near June down to 11h 07m in December.

The Fajr and Isha angles for Riverside come from the Islamic Society of North America. The ISNA method sets Fajr when the sun is 15° below the horizon, and Isha at 15°. Use ISNA's 15° instead and Fajr here would move by several minutes. So the method — not the coordinates alone — settles the final time. We also publish times for nearby Anaheim, Santa Ana and Long Beach. Each is only a few minutes off Riverside's clock.
