Prayer Times in Le Sud-Ouest, Canada

Le Sud-Ouest's times use the ISNA method. That is the standard used by most mosques in Canada and across the United States. They are drawn from Le Sud-Ouest's own coordinates (45.4719°N, 73.5899°W). The schedule updates automatically at midnight, with no manual setting.

How Le Sud-Ouest's prayer times are worked out

From Le Sud-Ouest, the Qibla is 59° from true north. Face northeast to pray toward the Kaaba. It lies 10,001 km (6,215 miles) away in a straight line across the globe. Every time on this page is worked out from Le Sud-Ouest's own coordinates (45.47°N, 73.59°W), not a national average. That is why Le Sud-Ouest's times and its Qibla differ a little from cities a short distance away.

One local quirk shapes the Le Sud-Ouest timetable: midday prayer does not land at 12:00. Le Sud-Ouest lies well west inside its Toronto time zone. So the sun peaks about 63 minutes after clock noon. Dhuhr follows the sun, not the clock — today it falls at 12:39 PM. Across the year, the fast here runs from about 17h 41m near June down to 10h 13m in December.

The Fajr and Isha angles for Le Sud-Ouest come from the Islamic Society of North America. The ISNA method sets Fajr when the sun is 15° below the horizon, and Isha at 15°. Use ISNA's 15° instead and Fajr here would move by several minutes. So the method — not the coordinates alone — settles the final time. We also publish times for nearby Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, Verdun and Ville-Marie. Each is only a few minutes off Le Sud-Ouest's clock.
