Ville-Marie Prayer Times

Prayer Times in Ville-Marie, Canada

Prayer times in Ville-Marie are worked out each day from the city's coordinates (45.50°N). We use the ISNA method, the one followed across Canada. The five times shift by a minute or two each day as the sun moves. The full month is listed below.

Ville-Marie's times use the ISNA method. That is the standard used by most mosques in Canada and across the United States. They are drawn from Ville-Marie's own coordinates (45.4990°N, 73.5705°W). The schedule updates automatically at midnight, with no manual setting.

How Ville-Marie's prayer times are worked out

From Ville-Marie, the Qibla is 59° from true north. Face northeast to pray toward the Kaaba. It lies 9,999 km (6,213 miles) away in a straight line across the globe. Every time on this page is worked out from Ville-Marie's own coordinates (45.50°N, 73.57°W), not a national average. That is why Ville-Marie's times and its Qibla differ a little from cities a short distance away.

One local quirk shapes the Ville-Marie timetable: midday prayer does not land at 12:00. Ville-Marie lies well west inside its Toronto time zone. So the sun peaks about 63 minutes after clock noon. Dhuhr follows the sun, not the clock — today it falls at 12:39 PM. Across the year, the fast here runs from about 17h 41m near June down to 10h 13m in December.

The Fajr and Isha angles for Ville-Marie come from the Islamic Society of North America. The ISNA method sets Fajr when the sun is 15° below the horizon, and Isha at 15°. Use ISNA's 15° instead and Fajr here would move by several minutes. So the method — not the coordinates alone — settles the final time. We also publish times for nearby Montréal, Le Plateau-Mont-Royal and Le Sud-Ouest. Each is only a few minutes off Ville-Marie's clock.
