Saint-Laurent Prayer Times

Prayer Times in Saint-Laurent, Canada

Prayer times in Saint-Laurent are worked out each day from the city's coordinates (45.50°N). We use the ISNA method, the one followed across Canada. The five times shift by a minute or two each day as the sun moves. The full month is listed below.

Saint-Laurent's times use the ISNA method. That is the standard used by most mosques in Canada and across the United States. They are drawn from Saint-Laurent's own coordinates (45.5001°N, 73.6659°W). The schedule updates automatically at midnight, with no manual setting.

How Saint-Laurent's prayer times are worked out

From Saint-Laurent, the Qibla is 59° from true north. Face northeast to pray toward the Kaaba. It lies 10,005 km (6,217 miles) away in a straight line across the globe. Every time on this page is worked out from Saint-Laurent's own coordinates (45.50°N, 73.67°W), not a national average. That is why Saint-Laurent's times and its Qibla differ a little from cities a short distance away.

One local quirk shapes the Saint-Laurent timetable: midday prayer does not land at 12:00. Saint-Laurent lies well west inside its Toronto time zone. So the sun peaks about 63 minutes after clock noon. Dhuhr follows the sun, not the clock — today it falls at 12:40 PM. Across the year, the fast here runs from about 17h 41m near June down to 10h 12m in December.

The Fajr and Isha angles for Saint-Laurent come from the Islamic Society of North America. The ISNA method sets Fajr when the sun is 15° below the horizon, and Isha at 15°. Use ISNA's 15° instead and Fajr here would move by several minutes. So the method — not the coordinates alone — settles the final time. We also publish times for nearby Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie and Montréal. Each is only a few minutes off Saint-Laurent's clock.
