Prayer Times in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Fort Lauderdale's times use the ISNA method. That is the standard used by most mosques in Florida and across the United States. They are drawn from Fort Lauderdale's own coordinates (26.1224°N, 80.1373°W). The schedule updates automatically at midnight, with no manual setting.

How Fort Lauderdale's prayer times are worked out

From Fort Lauderdale, the Qibla is 57° from true north. Face northeast to pray toward the Kaaba. It lies 11,661 km (7,246 miles) away in a straight line across the globe. Every time on this page is worked out from Fort Lauderdale's own coordinates (26.12°N, 80.14°W), not a national average. That is why Fort Lauderdale's times and its Qibla differ a little from cities a short distance away.

One local quirk shapes the Fort Lauderdale timetable: midday prayer does not land at 12:00. Fort Lauderdale lies well west inside its New York time zone. So the sun peaks about 89 minutes after clock noon. Dhuhr follows the sun, not the clock — today it falls at 1:07 PM. Across the year, the fast here runs from about 15h 01m near June down to 11h 39m in December.

The Fajr and Isha angles for Fort Lauderdale come from the Islamic Society of North America. The ISNA method sets Fajr when the sun is 15° below the horizon, and Isha at 15°. Use ISNA's 15° instead and Fajr here would move by several minutes. So the method — not the coordinates alone — settles the final time. We also publish times for nearby Miami, West Palm Beach and Orlando. Each is only a few minutes off Fort Lauderdale's clock.
