Lower Sackville's times use the ISNA method. That is the standard used by most mosques in Canada and across the United States. They are drawn from Lower Sackville's own coordinates (44.7760°N, 63.6786°W). The schedule updates automatically at midnight, with no manual setting.

How Lower Sackville's prayer times are worked out

From Lower Sackville, the Qibla is 66° from true north. Face northeast to pray toward the Kaaba. It lies 9,351 km (5,810 miles) away in a straight line across the globe. Every time on this page is worked out from Lower Sackville's own coordinates (44.78°N, 63.68°W), not a national average. That is why Lower Sackville's times and its Qibla differ a little from cities a short distance away.

One local quirk shapes the Lower Sackville timetable: midday prayer does not land at 12:00. Lower Sackville lies well west inside its Halifax time zone. So the sun peaks about 83 minutes after clock noon. Dhuhr follows the sun, not the clock — today it falls at 1:00 PM. Across the year, the fast here runs from about 17h 31m near June down to 10h 17m in December.

The Fajr and Isha angles for Lower Sackville come from the Islamic Society of North America. The ISNA method sets Fajr when the sun is 15° below the horizon, and Isha at 15°. Use ISNA's 15° instead and Fajr here would move by several minutes. So the method — not the coordinates alone — settles the final time. We also publish times for nearby Dartmouth, Halifax and Moncton. Each is only a few minutes off Lower Sackville's clock.
