Gloucester Prayer Times

Prayer Times in Gloucester, Canada

Prayer times in Gloucester are worked out each day from the city's coordinates (45.35°N). We use the ISNA method, the one followed across Canada. The five times shift by a minute or two each day as the sun moves. The full month is listed below.

Gloucester's times use the ISNA method. That is the standard used by most mosques in Canada and across the United States. They are drawn from Gloucester's own coordinates (45.3500°N, 75.6333°W). The schedule updates automatically at midnight, with no manual setting.

How Gloucester's prayer times are worked out

From Gloucester, the Qibla is 57° from true north. Face northeast to pray toward the Kaaba. It lies 10,144 km (6,303 miles) away in a straight line across the globe. Every time on this page is worked out from Gloucester's own coordinates (45.35°N, 75.63°W), not a national average. That is why Gloucester's times and its Qibla differ a little from cities a short distance away.

One local quirk shapes the Gloucester timetable: midday prayer does not land at 12:00. Gloucester lies well west inside its Toronto time zone. So the sun peaks about 71 minutes after clock noon. Dhuhr follows the sun, not the clock — today it falls at 12:48 PM. Across the year, the fast here runs from about 17h 38m near June down to 10h 13m in December.

The Fajr and Isha angles for Gloucester come from the Islamic Society of North America. The ISNA method sets Fajr when the sun is 15° below the horizon, and Isha at 15°. Use ISNA's 15° instead and Fajr here would move by several minutes. So the method — not the coordinates alone — settles the final time. We also publish times for nearby Ottawa South, Nepean and Ottawa. Each is only a few minutes off Gloucester's clock.
