Aurora Prayer Times

Prayer Times in Aurora, Canada

Prayer times in Aurora are worked out each day from the city's coordinates (44.00°N). We use the ISNA method, the one followed across Canada. The five times shift by a minute or two each day as the sun moves. The full month is listed below.

Aurora's times use the ISNA method. That is the standard used by most mosques in Canada and across the United States. They are drawn from Aurora's own coordinates (44.0001°N, 79.4663°W). The schedule updates automatically at midnight, with no manual setting.

How Aurora's prayer times are worked out

From Aurora, the Qibla is 54° from true north. Face northeast to pray toward the Kaaba. It lies 10,479 km (6,511 miles) away in a straight line across the globe. Every time on this page is worked out from Aurora's own coordinates (44.00°N, 79.47°W), not a national average. That is why Aurora's times and its Qibla differ a little from cities a short distance away.

One local quirk shapes the Aurora timetable: midday prayer does not land at 12:00. Aurora lies well west inside its Toronto time zone. So the sun peaks about 86 minutes after clock noon. Dhuhr follows the sun, not the clock — today it falls at 1:03 PM. Across the year, the fast here runs from about 17h 21m near June down to 10h 21m in December.

The Fajr and Isha angles for Aurora come from the Islamic Society of North America. The ISNA method sets Fajr when the sun is 15° below the horizon, and Isha at 15°. Use ISNA's 15° instead and Fajr here would move by several minutes. So the method — not the coordinates alone — settles the final time. We also publish times for nearby Newmarket, Richmond Hill and Vaughan. Each is only a few minutes off Aurora's clock.
