Willowdale's times use the ISNA method. That is the standard used by most mosques in Canada and across the United States. They are drawn from Willowdale's own coordinates (43.7667°N, 79.3991°W). The schedule updates automatically at midnight, with no manual setting.

How Willowdale's prayer times are worked out

From Willowdale, the Qibla is 55° from true north. Face northeast to pray toward the Kaaba. It lies 10,490 km (6,518 miles) away in a straight line across the globe. Every time on this page is worked out from Willowdale's own coordinates (43.77°N, 79.40°W), not a national average. That is why Willowdale's times and its Qibla differ a little from cities a short distance away.

One local quirk shapes the Willowdale timetable: midday prayer does not land at 12:00. Willowdale lies well west inside its Toronto time zone. So the sun peaks about 86 minutes after clock noon. Dhuhr follows the sun, not the clock — today it falls at 1:03 PM. Across the year, the fast here runs from about 17h 18m near June down to 10h 22m in December.

The Fajr and Isha angles for Willowdale come from the Islamic Society of North America. The ISNA method sets Fajr when the sun is 15° below the horizon, and Isha at 15°. Use ISNA's 15° instead and Fajr here would move by several minutes. So the method — not the coordinates alone — settles the final time. We also publish times for nearby Willowdale East, Vaughan and Richmond Hill. Each is only a few minutes off Willowdale's clock.
