Zarqa's times use the Muslim World League method. That is the standard followed by most mosques in Jordan. They are drawn from Zarqa's own coordinates (32.0727°N, 36.0880°E). The schedule updates automatically at midnight, with no manual setting.
How Zarqa's prayer times are worked out
From Zarqa, the Qibla is 162° from true north. Face south to pray toward the Kaaba. It lies 1,241 km (771 miles) away in a straight line across the globe. Every time on this page is worked out from Zarqa's own coordinates (32.07°N, 36.09°E), not a national average. That is why Zarqa's times and its Qibla differ a little from cities a short distance away.
One local quirk shapes the Zarqa timetable: midday prayer does not land at 12:00. Zarqa lies well west inside its Amman time zone. So the sun peaks about 44 minutes after clock noon. Dhuhr follows the sun, not the clock — today it falls at 12:21 PM. Across the year, the fast here runs from about 15h 56m near June down to 11h 30m in December.
The Fajr and Isha angles for Zarqa come from the Muslim World League. The Muslim World League method sets Fajr when the sun is 18° below the horizon, and Isha at 17°. Use ISNA's 15° instead and Fajr here would move by several minutes. So the method — not the coordinates alone — settles the final time. We also publish times for nearby Russeifa, Amman and Az̧ Z̧ulayl. Each is only a few minutes off Zarqa's clock.

Who sets prayer times in Jordan
Jordan's prayer times are issued by the Ministry of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Places. Its method puts both Fajr and Isha at 18° below the horizon, the convention this page applies. The Shafi'i school is historically dominant, with a substantial Hanafi presence. Most Jordanian timetables therefore use the standard first-shadow Asr, while some mosques follow the later Hanafi time.
Amman's landmark mosques
The King Abdullah I Mosque in Amman was built between 1982 and 1989, a memorial by King Hussein to his grandfather. It is instantly recognisable for its blue mosaic dome, which spans some 35 metres. It is also the one Amman mosque that regularly welcomes non-Muslim visitors. The King Hussein Bin Talal Mosque, completed in 2005, is the largest in the country. Together they anchor the religious life of a capital that has grown rapidly while keeping the daily rhythm of the five prayers at its centre.
