Who sets prayer times in Jordan
Jordan's prayer times are issued by the Ministry of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Places. Its method puts both Fajr and Isha at 18° below the horizon, the convention this page applies. The Shafi'i school is historically dominant, with a substantial Hanafi presence. Most Jordanian timetables therefore use the standard first-shadow Asr, while some mosques follow the later Hanafi time.

The King Abdullah I Mosque in Amman was built between 1982 and 1989, a memorial by King Hussein to his grandfather. It is instantly recognisable for its blue mosaic dome, which spans some 35 metres. It is also the one Amman mosque that regularly welcomes non-Muslim visitors. The King Hussein Bin Talal Mosque, completed in 2005, is the largest in the country.
