Tulsa Prayer Times

Prayer Times in Tulsa, Oklahoma

Prayer times in Tulsa are worked out each day from the city's coordinates (36.15°N). We use the ISNA method, the one followed across Oklahoma. The five times shift by a minute or two each day as the sun moves. The full month is listed below.

Tulsa's times use the ISNA method. That is the standard used by most mosques in Oklahoma and across the United States. They are drawn from Tulsa's own coordinates (36.1540°N, 95.9928°W). The schedule updates automatically at midnight, with no manual setting.

How Tulsa's prayer times are worked out

From Tulsa, the Qibla is 43° from true north. Face northeast to pray toward the Kaaba. It lies 12,107 km (7,523 miles) away in a straight line across the globe. Every time on this page is worked out from Tulsa's own coordinates (36.15°N, 95.99°W), not a national average. That is why Tulsa's times and its Qibla differ a little from cities a short distance away.

One local quirk shapes the Tulsa timetable: midday prayer does not land at 12:00. Tulsa lies well west inside its Chicago time zone. So the sun peaks about 92 minutes after clock noon. Dhuhr follows the sun, not the clock — today it falls at 1:09 PM. Across the year, the fast here runs from about 16h 06m near June down to 10h 58m in December.

The Fajr and Isha angles for Tulsa come from the Islamic Society of North America. The ISNA method sets Fajr when the sun is 15° below the horizon, and Isha at 15°. Use ISNA's 15° instead and Fajr here would move by several minutes. So the method — not the coordinates alone — settles the final time. We also publish times for nearby Oklahoma City, Wichita and Kansas City. Each is only a few minutes off Tulsa's clock.
