Stockton Prayer Times

Prayer Times in Stockton, California

Prayer times in Stockton are worked out each day from the city's coordinates (37.96°N). We use the ISNA method, the one followed across California. The five times shift by a minute or two each day as the sun moves. The full month is listed below.

Stockton's times use the ISNA method. That is the standard used by most mosques in California and across the United States. They are drawn from Stockton's own coordinates (37.9577°N, 121.2908°W). The schedule updates automatically at midnight, with no manual setting.

How Stockton's prayer times are worked out

From Stockton, the Qibla is 20° from true north. Face north to pray toward the Kaaba. It lies 13,124 km (8,155 miles) away in a straight line across the globe. Every time on this page is worked out from Stockton's own coordinates (37.96°N, 121.29°W), not a national average. That is why Stockton's times and its Qibla differ a little from cities a short distance away.

One local quirk shapes the Stockton timetable: midday prayer does not land at 12:00. Stockton lies well west inside its Los Angeles time zone. So the sun peaks about 74 minutes after clock noon. Dhuhr follows the sun, not the clock — today it falls at 12:50 PM. Across the year, the fast here runs from about 16h 20m near June down to 10h 50m in December.

The Fajr and Isha angles for Stockton come from the Islamic Society of North America. The ISNA method sets Fajr when the sun is 15° below the horizon, and Isha at 15°. Use ISNA's 15° instead and Fajr here would move by several minutes. So the method — not the coordinates alone — settles the final time. We also publish times for nearby Sacramento, Fremont and San Jose. Each is only a few minutes off Stockton's clock.
