Sherbrooke's times use the ISNA method. That is the standard used by most mosques in Canada and across the United States. They are drawn from Sherbrooke's own coordinates (45.4001°N, 71.8991°W). The schedule updates automatically at midnight, with no manual setting.

How Sherbrooke's prayer times are worked out

From Sherbrooke, the Qibla is 60° from true north. Face northeast to pray toward the Kaaba. It lies 9,892 km (6,147 miles) away in a straight line across the globe. Every time on this page is worked out from Sherbrooke's own coordinates (45.40°N, 71.90°W), not a national average. That is why Sherbrooke's times and its Qibla differ a little from cities a short distance away.

One local quirk shapes the Sherbrooke timetable: midday prayer does not land at 12:00. Sherbrooke lies well west inside its Toronto time zone. So the sun peaks about 56 minutes after clock noon. Dhuhr follows the sun, not the clock — today it falls at 12:33 PM. Across the year, the fast here runs from about 17h 40m near June down to 10h 13m in December.

The Fajr and Isha angles for Sherbrooke come from the Islamic Society of North America. The ISNA method sets Fajr when the sun is 15° below the horizon, and Isha at 15°. Use ISNA's 15° instead and Fajr here would move by several minutes. So the method — not the coordinates alone — settles the final time. We also publish times for nearby Granby, Drummondville and Saint-Hyacinthe. Each is only a few minutes off Sherbrooke's clock.
