Sainte-Foy Prayer Times

Prayer Times in Sainte-Foy, Canada

Sainte-Foy's times use the ISNA method. That is the standard used by most mosques in Canada and across the United States. They are drawn from Sainte-Foy's own coordinates (46.7814°N, 71.2922°W). The schedule updates automatically at midnight, with no manual setting.

How Sainte-Foy's prayer times are worked out

From Sainte-Foy, the Qibla is 60° from true north. Face northeast to pray toward the Kaaba. It lies 9,775 km (6,074 miles) away in a straight line across the globe. Every time on this page is worked out from Sainte-Foy's own coordinates (46.78°N, 71.29°W), not a national average. That is why Sainte-Foy's times and its Qibla differ a little from cities a short distance away.

One local quirk shapes the Sainte-Foy timetable: midday prayer does not land at 12:00. Sainte-Foy lies well west inside its Toronto time zone. So the sun peaks about 54 minutes after clock noon. Dhuhr follows the sun, not the clock — today it falls at 12:30 PM. Across the year, the fast here runs from about 17h 59m near June down to 10h 04m in December.

The Fajr and Isha angles for Sainte-Foy come from the Islamic Society of North America. The ISNA method sets Fajr when the sun is 15° below the horizon, and Isha at 15°. Use ISNA's 15° instead and Fajr here would move by several minutes. So the method — not the coordinates alone — settles the final time. We also publish times for nearby Les Rivières, Québec and La Cité-Limoilou. Each is only a few minutes off Sainte-Foy's clock.
