La Cité-Limoilou's times use the ISNA method. That is the standard used by most mosques in Canada and across the United States. They are drawn from La Cité-Limoilou's own coordinates (46.8289°N, 71.2264°W). The schedule updates automatically at midnight, with no manual setting.

How La Cité-Limoilou's prayer times are worked out

From La Cité-Limoilou, the Qibla is 60° from true north. Face northeast to pray toward the Kaaba. It lies 9,768 km (6,070 miles) away in a straight line across the globe. Every time on this page is worked out from La Cité-Limoilou's own coordinates (46.83°N, 71.23°W), not a national average. That is why La Cité-Limoilou's times and its Qibla differ a little from cities a short distance away.

One local quirk shapes the La Cité-Limoilou timetable: midday prayer does not land at 12:00. La Cité-Limoilou lies well west inside its Toronto time zone. So the sun peaks about 53 minutes after clock noon. Dhuhr follows the sun, not the clock — today it falls at 12:30 PM. Across the year, the fast here runs from about 18h 00m near June down to 10h 05m in December.

The Fajr and Isha angles for La Cité-Limoilou come from the Islamic Society of North America. The ISNA method sets Fajr when the sun is 15° below the horizon, and Isha at 15°. Use ISNA's 15° instead and Fajr here would move by several minutes. So the method — not the coordinates alone — settles the final time.
