Prayer Times in Niagara Falls, Canada

Prayer times in Niagara Falls are worked out each day from the city's coordinates (43.10°N). We use the ISNA method, the one followed across Canada. The five times shift by a minute or two each day as the sun moves. The full month is listed below.

Niagara Falls's times use the ISNA method. That is the standard used by most mosques in Canada and across the United States. They are drawn from Niagara Falls's own coordinates (43.1001°N, 79.0663°W). The schedule updates automatically at midnight, with no manual setting.

How Niagara Falls's prayer times are worked out

From Niagara Falls, the Qibla is 55° from true north. Face northeast to pray toward the Kaaba. It lies 10,510 km (6,531 miles) away in a straight line across the globe. Every time on this page is worked out from Niagara Falls's own coordinates (43.10°N, 79.07°W), not a national average. That is why Niagara Falls's times and its Qibla differ a little from cities a short distance away.

One local quirk shapes the Niagara Falls timetable: midday prayer does not land at 12:00. Niagara Falls lies well west inside its Toronto time zone. So the sun peaks about 85 minutes after clock noon. Dhuhr follows the sun, not the clock — today it falls at 1:01 PM. Across the year, the fast here runs from about 17h 10m near June down to 10h 25m in December.

The Fajr and Isha angles for Niagara Falls come from the Islamic Society of North America. The ISNA method sets Fajr when the sun is 15° below the horizon, and Isha at 15°. Use ISNA's 15° instead and Fajr here would move by several minutes. So the method — not the coordinates alone — settles the final time. We also publish times for nearby St. Catharines, Welland and Buffalo. Each is only a few minutes off Niagara Falls's clock.
