Muharraq Prayer Times

Prayer Times in Muharraq, Bahrain

Prayer times in Muharraq are worked out each day from the city's coordinates (26.26°N). We use the Umm al-Qura method, the one followed across Bahrain. The five times shift by a minute or two each day as the sun moves. The full month is listed below.

Muharraq's times use the Umm al-Qura method. That is the standard followed by most mosques in Bahrain. They are drawn from Muharraq's own coordinates (26.2572°N, 50.6119°E). The schedule updates automatically at midnight, with no manual setting.

How Muharraq's prayer times are worked out

From Muharraq, the Qibla is 246° from true north. Face southwest to pray toward the Kaaba. It lies 1,221 km (759 miles) away in a straight line across the globe. Every time on this page is worked out from Muharraq's own coordinates (26.26°N, 50.61°E), not a national average. That is why Muharraq's times and its Qibla differ a little from cities a short distance away.

One local quirk shapes the Muharraq timetable: midday prayer does not land at 12:00. Muharraq lies well east inside its Bahrain time zone. So the sun peaks about 15 minutes before clock noon. Dhuhr follows the sun, not the clock — today it falls at 11:22 AM. Across the year, the fast here runs from about 15h 21m near June down to 11h 54m in December.

The Fajr and Isha angles for Muharraq come from Umm al-Qura University, Makkah. The Umm al-Qura method sets Fajr when the sun is 18.5° below the horizon, and Isha 90 minutes after Maghrib. Use ISNA's 15° instead and Fajr here would move by several minutes. So the method — not the coordinates alone — settles the final time. We also publish times for nearby Manama, Jidd Ḩafş and Sitrah. Each is only a few minutes off Muharraq's clock.
