From early May to early August, true night never falls over much of Sweden. The Imam Council's own guidance notes that the sharia signs for Isha and Fajr disappear. Northern communities therefore follow the nearest city with usable times. For Ramadan, guidance from the European Council for Fatwa permits estimation where the signs are absent.
Mosques of Stockholm, Malmö and the north
The Stockholm Mosque on Södermalm opened in 2000. It is named for its Emirati benefactor, Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and is the capital's largest.
