Goz Beida's times use the Muslim World League method. That is the standard followed by most mosques in Chad. They are drawn from Goz Beida's own coordinates (12.2264°N, 21.4098°E). The schedule updates automatically at midnight, with no manual setting.

How Goz Beida's prayer times are worked out

From Goz Beida, the Qibla is 60° from true north. Face northeast to pray toward the Kaaba. It lies 2,208 km (1,372 miles) away in a straight line across the globe. Every time on this page is worked out from Goz Beida's own coordinates (12.23°N, 21.41°E), not a national average. That is why Goz Beida's times and its Qibla differ a little from cities a short distance away.

One local quirk shapes the Goz Beida timetable: midday prayer does not land at 12:00. Goz Beida lies well east inside its Ndjamena time zone. So the sun peaks about 17 minutes before clock noon. Dhuhr follows the sun, not the clock — today it falls at 11:19 AM. Across the year, the fast here runs from about 14h 10m near June down to 12h 41m in December.

The Fajr and Isha angles for Goz Beida come from the Muslim World League. The Muslim World League method sets Fajr when the sun is 18° below the horizon, and Isha at 17°. Use ISNA's 15° instead and Fajr here would move by several minutes. So the method — not the coordinates alone — settles the final time. We also publish times for nearby Al-Junaynah, El Geneina Fort and Am Timan. Each is only a few minutes off Goz Beida's clock.
