Am Timan's times use the Muslim World League method. That is the standard followed by most mosques in Chad. They are drawn from Am Timan's own coordinates (11.0433°N, 20.2834°E). The schedule updates automatically at midnight, with no manual setting.
How Am Timan's prayer times are worked out
From Am Timan, the Qibla is 59° from true north. Face northeast to pray toward the Kaaba. It lies 2,381 km (1,479 miles) away in a straight line across the globe. Every time on this page is worked out from Am Timan's own coordinates (11.04°N, 20.28°E), not a national average. That is why Am Timan's times and its Qibla differ a little from cities a short distance away.
One local quirk shapes the Am Timan timetable: midday prayer does not land at 12:00. Am Timan lies well east inside its Ndjamena time zone. So the sun peaks about 13 minutes before clock noon. Dhuhr follows the sun, not the clock — today it falls at 11:24 AM. Across the year, the fast here runs from about 14h 05m near June down to 12h 44m in December.
The Fajr and Isha angles for Am Timan come from the Muslim World League. The Muslim World League method sets Fajr when the sun is 18° below the horizon, and Isha at 17°. Use ISNA's 15° instead and Fajr here would move by several minutes. So the method — not the coordinates alone — settles the final time. We also publish times for nearby Goz Beida, Mongo and Sarh. Each is only a few minutes off Am Timan's clock.

Who sets prayer times in Chad
Chad is roughly half Muslim, the majority faith, concentrated in the centre and north. Like the wider Sahel, it is overwhelmingly Sunni of the Maliki school, with deep Tijaniyya and Sufi roots. No single state office prints one national timetable: mosques publish their own, and Ramadan opens on a moon sighting rather than a fixed calendar. This page applies the Muslim World League calculation (Fajr 18°, Isha 17°) to the city's own coordinates. Chad keeps a single UTC+1 clock all year with no daylight saving, so the only thing that moves the timetable is the sun.
The King Faisal Mosque
N'Djamena's Grand Mosque is the King Faisal Mosque (Mosquée Roi Fayçal). It was built in the late 1970s with Saudi funding and named after King Faisal. It is the country's principal place of worship, and its complex pairs the prayer hall with libraries, lecture halls and schools. Chadian Islam follows the Maliki madhhab. So mosques call Asr on the earlier first-shadow reckoning, not the later Hanafi time. The Asr shown here is therefore the one you will actually hear announced.
