El Paso Prayer Times

Prayer Times in El Paso, Texas

Prayer times in El Paso are worked out each day from the city's coordinates (31.76°N). We use the ISNA method, the one followed across Texas. The five times shift by a minute or two each day as the sun moves. The full month is listed below.

El Paso's times use the ISNA method. That is the standard used by most mosques in Texas and across the United States. They are drawn from El Paso's own coordinates (31.7619°N, 106.4850°W). The schedule updates automatically at midnight, with no manual setting.

How El Paso's prayer times are worked out

From El Paso, the Qibla is 36° from true north. Face northeast to pray toward the Kaaba. It lies 13,098 km (8,139 miles) away in a straight line across the globe. Every time on this page is worked out from El Paso's own coordinates (31.76°N, 106.48°W), not a national average. That is why El Paso's times and its Qibla differ a little from cities a short distance away.

One local quirk shapes the El Paso timetable: midday prayer does not land at 12:00. El Paso lies well west inside its Denver time zone. So the sun peaks about 74 minutes after clock noon. Dhuhr follows the sun, not the clock — today it falls at 12:51 PM. Across the year, the fast here runs from about 15h 35m near June down to 11h 17m in December.

The Fajr and Isha angles for El Paso come from the Islamic Society of North America. The ISNA method sets Fajr when the sun is 15° below the horizon, and Isha at 15°. Use ISNA's 15° instead and Fajr here would move by several minutes. So the method — not the coordinates alone — settles the final time. We also publish times for nearby Albuquerque, Tucson and Lubbock. Each is only a few minutes off El Paso's clock.
