Burlington Prayer Times

Prayer Times in Burlington, Canada

Prayer times in Burlington are worked out each day from the city's coordinates (43.39°N). We use the ISNA method, the one followed across Canada. The five times shift by a minute or two each day as the sun moves. The full month is listed below.

Burlington's times use the ISNA method. That is the standard used by most mosques in Canada and across the United States. They are drawn from Burlington's own coordinates (43.3862°N, 79.8371°W). The schedule updates automatically at midnight, with no manual setting.

How Burlington's prayer times are worked out

From Burlington, the Qibla is 54° from true north. Face northeast to pray toward the Kaaba. It lies 10,543 km (6,551 miles) away in a straight line across the globe. Every time on this page is worked out from Burlington's own coordinates (43.39°N, 79.84°W), not a national average. That is why Burlington's times and its Qibla differ a little from cities a short distance away.

One local quirk shapes the Burlington timetable: midday prayer does not land at 12:00. Burlington lies well west inside its Toronto time zone. So the sun peaks about 88 minutes after clock noon. Dhuhr follows the sun, not the clock — today it falls at 1:07 PM. Across the year, the fast here runs from about 17h 15m near June down to 10h 24m in December.

The Fajr and Isha angles for Burlington come from the Islamic Society of North America. The ISNA method sets Fajr when the sun is 15° below the horizon, and Isha at 15°. Use ISNA's 15° instead and Fajr here would move by several minutes. So the method — not the coordinates alone — settles the final time. We also publish times for nearby Oakville, Milton and Hamilton. Each is only a few minutes off Burlington's clock.
