Prayer Times in Az̧ Z̧a‘āyin, Qatar

Prayer times in Az̧ Z̧a‘āyin are worked out each day from the city's coordinates (25.58°N). We use the Qatar method, the one followed across Qatar. The five times shift by a minute or two each day as the sun moves. The full month is listed below.

Az̧ Z̧a‘āyin's times use the Qatar method. That is the standard followed by most mosques in Qatar. They are drawn from Az̧ Z̧a‘āyin's own coordinates (25.5774°N, 51.4831°E). The schedule updates automatically at midnight, with no manual setting.

How Az̧ Z̧a‘āyin's prayer times are worked out

From Az̧ Z̧a‘āyin, the Qibla is 251° from true north. Face west to pray toward the Kaaba. It lies 1,275 km (792 miles) away in a straight line across the globe. Every time on this page is worked out from Az̧ Z̧a‘āyin's own coordinates (25.58°N, 51.48°E), not a national average. That is why Az̧ Z̧a‘āyin's times and its Qibla differ a little from cities a short distance away.

One local quirk shapes the Az̧ Z̧a‘āyin timetable: midday prayer does not land at 12:00. Az̧ Z̧a‘āyin lies well east inside its Qatar time zone. So the sun peaks about 18 minutes before clock noon. Dhuhr follows the sun, not the clock — today it falls at 11:18 AM. Across the year, the fast here runs from about 15h 14m near June down to 11h 54m in December.

The Fajr and Isha angles for Az̧ Z̧a‘āyin come from Qatar's Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs. The Qatar method sets Fajr when the sun is 18° below the horizon, and Isha 90 minutes after Maghrib. Use ISNA's 15° instead and Fajr here would move by several minutes. So the method — not the coordinates alone — settles the final time. We also publish times for nearby Lusail, Al Rayyan and Doha. Each is only a few minutes off Az̧ Z̧a‘āyin's clock.
