Prayer Times in Quvasoy, Uzbekistan

Prayer times in Quvasoy are worked out each day from the city's coordinates (40.30°N). We use the Muslim World League method, the one followed across Uzbekistan. The five times shift by a minute or two each day as the sun moves. The full month is listed below.

Quvasoy's times use the Muslim World League method. That is the standard followed by most mosques in Uzbekistan. They are drawn from Quvasoy's own coordinates (40.2972°N, 71.9803°E). The schedule updates automatically at midnight, with no manual setting.

How Quvasoy's prayer times are worked out

From Quvasoy, the Qibla is 245° from true north. Face southwest to pray toward the Kaaba. It lies 3,685 km (2,290 miles) away in a straight line across the globe. Every time on this page is worked out from Quvasoy's own coordinates (40.30°N, 71.98°E), not a national average. That is why Quvasoy's times and its Qibla differ a little from cities a short distance away.

One local quirk shapes the Quvasoy timetable: midday prayer does not land at 12:00. Quvasoy lies well west inside its Bishkek time zone. So the sun peaks about 81 minutes after clock noon. Dhuhr follows the sun, not the clock — today it falls at 1:10 PM. Across the year, the fast here runs from about 17h 07m near June down to 10h 56m in December.

The Fajr and Isha angles for Quvasoy come from the Muslim World League. The Muslim World League method sets Fajr when the sun is 18° below the horizon, and Isha at 17°. Use ISNA's 15° instead and Fajr here would move by several minutes. So the method — not the coordinates alone — settles the final time. We also publish times for nearby Fergana, Marg‘ilon and Asaka. Each is only a few minutes off Quvasoy's clock.

Two Asr times are in use in Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan is overwhelmingly Hanafi — mosques announce the later, second-shadow Asr, so this page shows both times. The time shown above for Quvasoy is the standard reckoning — 4:43 PM. The Hanafi time today is 5:39 PM. Follow whichever your mosque announces; you can make Hanafi the default in the settings above.

Who sets prayer times in Uzbekistan

Prayer times in Uzbekistan are administered by the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan (the Muftiate), which approves the annual calendar the country's mosques follow. This page applies the Muslim World League parameters (Fajr 18°, Isha 17°) to this city's own coordinates. The official Uzbek table may therefore differ by a few minutes. Treat your local mosque's announcement as final. Uzbekistan is deeply Hanafi, the homeland of Imam al-Bukhari and al-Tirmidhi. Asr is therefore called on the second-shadow reckoning. Since 2016 the country has seen a visible revival of public religious life. The clock stays on UTC+5 all year, with no daylight saving.

Samarkand and Tashkent: the architecture of faith

Few countries carry Islamic architecture like Uzbekistan. Samarkand's Registan anchors a UNESCO World Heritage ensemble, its Ulugh Beg Madrasa begun in 1417. The Bibi-Khanym Mosque rose in 1399-1404 on Timur's orders, after his Indian campaign. It was named for his senior wife. In Tashkent, the Hazrati Imam complex long displayed one of the oldest surviving Qur'an manuscripts. This is the Samarkand Kufic Qur'an, which tradition holds was the caliph Uthman's own copy. In late 2025 the manuscript moved to the city's new Center for Islamic Civilization. Bukhara, Khiva and Shakhrisabz complete a constellation of sacred cities unmatched in Central Asia.
