Prayer Times in Okara, Pakistan
Prayer times in Okara are worked out each day from the city's coordinates (30.81°N). We use the Karachi method, the one followed across Pakistan. The five times shift by a minute or two each day as the sun moves. The full month is listed below.
Okara's times use the Karachi method. That is the standard followed by most mosques in Pakistan. They are drawn from Okara's own coordinates (30.8103°N, 73.4515°E). The schedule updates automatically at midnight, with no manual setting.
How Okara's prayer times are worked out
From Okara, the Qibla is 261° from true north. Face west to pray toward the Kaaba. It lies 3,500 km (2,175 miles) away in a straight line across the globe. Every time on this page is worked out from Okara's own coordinates (30.81°N, 73.45°E), not a national average. That is why Okara's times and its Qibla differ a little from cities a short distance away.
One local quirk shapes the Okara timetable: midday prayer does not land at 12:00. Okara lies well west inside its Karachi time zone. So the sun peaks about 15 minutes after clock noon. Dhuhr follows the sun, not the clock — today it falls at 12:13 PM. Across the year, the fast here runs from about 15h 46m near June down to 11h 36m in December.
The Fajr and Isha angles for Okara come from the University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi. The Karachi method sets Fajr when the sun is 18° below the horizon, and Isha at 18°. Use ISNA's 15° instead and Fajr here would move by several minutes. So the method — not the coordinates alone — settles the final time. We also publish times for nearby Dipalpur, Hujra Shah Muqim and Sahiwal. Each is only a few minutes off Okara's clock.

Two Asr times are in use in Pakistan
Most Pakistani mosques follow the Hanafi reckoning of Asr. It begins when an object's shadow reaches twice its length, roughly 75 minutes later than the standard reckoning. The time shown above for Okara is the standard reckoning — 3:49 PM. The Hanafi time today is 4:56 PM. Follow whichever your mosque announces; you can make Hanafi the default in the settings above.
Who sets prayer times in Pakistan
Pakistan has no single body that issues one national prayer timetable. Mosques and provincial Auqaf departments publish their own. What is standardised is the calculation. The University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi method (Fajr 18°, Isha 18°) is the de facto basis for timetables across the country. It is what this page uses. The state religious body is the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony. The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee rules on the moon sighting that begins Ramadan and Eid. It was established in 1974 and is assisted by Pakistan Meteorological Department observatories. So those dates are declared by sighting rather than by calendar.
Mosques and the Asr question
Pakistan's landmark mosques start with the Faisal Mosque in Islamabad. It was completed in 1986 to a design by the Turkish architect Vedat Dalokay. It was the largest mosque in the world from 1986 until 1993, when Casablanca's Hassan II Mosque overtook it. Lahore's Badshahi Mosque was completed in 1673 under Aurangzeb; its courtyard can hold tens of thousands as an Idgah. Because Pakistan is overwhelmingly Hanafi, your local mosque almost certainly calls Asr on the second-shadow rule. This page shows the standard (Shafi) Asr by default, with the Hanafi Asr alongside it. Follow whichever your mosque announces. You can also switch the madhab in the settings above to make Hanafi the default.

The Qibla direction from Okara, Pakistan is 261° from true north. Face west toward Mecca, Saudi Arabia, which lies 3,500 km (2,175 miles) away.
How long is the fast in Okara?
The longest daily fast in Okara is about 15h 46m, around June. The shortest is about 11h 36m, in December. That is a swing of 4h 10m across the year, set by the city's latitude of 30.81°N. Both are measured from Fajr to Maghrib with the Karachi method.
Why is the Asr time here different from my local mosque in Pakistan?
Because of the madhab. The standard (Shafi/Maliki/Hanbali) reckoning starts Asr when an object's shadow equals its own length. The Hanafi reckoning waits until the shadow is twice the object's length, about 75 minutes later. Most Pakistani mosques follow the Hanafi time. This page shows both, and you can set Hanafi as your default in the settings.
