Nyala's times use the Muslim World League method. That is the standard followed by most mosques in Sudan. They are drawn from Nyala's own coordinates (12.0489°N, 24.8807°E). The schedule updates automatically at midnight, with no manual setting.

How Nyala's prayer times are worked out

From Nyala, the Qibla is 55° from true north. Face northeast to pray toward the Kaaba. It lies 1,900 km (1,181 miles) away in a straight line across the globe. Every time on this page is worked out from Nyala's own coordinates (12.05°N, 24.88°E), not a national average. That is why Nyala's times and its Qibla differ a little from cities a short distance away.

One local quirk shapes the Nyala timetable: midday prayer does not land at 12:00. Nyala lies well west inside its Khartoum time zone. So the sun peaks about 29 minutes after clock noon. Dhuhr follows the sun, not the clock — today it falls at 12:06 PM. Across the year, the fast here runs from about 14h 08m near June down to 12h 41m in December.

The Fajr and Isha angles for Nyala come from the Muslim World League. The Muslim World League method sets Fajr when the sun is 18° below the horizon, and Isha at 17°. Use ISNA's 15° instead and Fajr here would move by several minutes. So the method — not the coordinates alone — settles the final time. We also publish times for nearby Kas, Gereida and Burām. Each is only a few minutes off Nyala's clock.
