Murcia Prayer Times

Prayer Times in Murcia, Spain

Prayer times in Murcia are worked out each day from the city's coordinates (37.99°N). We use the Muslim World League method, the one followed across Spain. The five times shift by a minute or two each day as the sun moves. The full month is listed below.

Murcia's times use the Muslim World League method. That is the standard followed by most mosques in Spain. They are drawn from Murcia's own coordinates (37.9870°N, 1.1300°W). The schedule updates automatically at midnight, with no manual setting.

How Murcia's prayer times are worked out

From Murcia, the Qibla is 103° from true north. Face east to pray toward the Kaaba. It lies 4,319 km (2,684 miles) away in a straight line across the globe. Every time on this page is worked out from Murcia's own coordinates (37.99°N, 1.13°W), not a national average. That is why Murcia's times and its Qibla differ a little from cities a short distance away.

One local quirk shapes the Murcia timetable: midday prayer does not land at 12:00. Murcia lies well west inside its Madrid time zone. So the sun peaks about 73 minutes after clock noon. Dhuhr follows the sun, not the clock — today it falls at 12:50 PM. Across the year, the fast here runs from about 16h 44m near June down to 11h 06m in December.

The Fajr and Isha angles for Murcia come from the Muslim World League. The Muslim World League method sets Fajr when the sun is 18° below the horizon, and Isha at 17°. Use ISNA's 15° instead and Fajr here would move by several minutes. So the method — not the coordinates alone — settles the final time. We also publish times for nearby Molina de Segura, Orihuela and Torrevieja. Each is only a few minutes off Murcia's clock.
