Mecheria's times use the Muslim World League method. That is the standard followed by most mosques in Algeria. They are drawn from Mecheria's own coordinates (33.5445°N, 0.2812°W). The schedule updates automatically at midnight, with no manual setting.

How Mecheria's prayer times are worked out

From Mecheria, the Qibla is 98° from true north. Face east to pray toward the Kaaba. It lies 4,150 km (2,579 miles) away in a straight line across the globe. Every time on this page is worked out from Mecheria's own coordinates (33.54°N, 0.28°W), not a national average. That is why Mecheria's times and its Qibla differ a little from cities a short distance away.

One local quirk shapes the Mecheria timetable: midday prayer does not land at 12:00. Mecheria lies well west inside its Algiers time zone. So the sun peaks about 70 minutes after clock noon. Dhuhr follows the sun, not the clock — today it falls at 12:46 PM. Across the year, the fast here runs from about 16h 06m near June down to 11h 25m in December.

The Fajr and Isha angles for Mecheria come from the Muslim World League. The Muslim World League method sets Fajr when the sun is 18° below the horizon, and Isha at 17°. Use ISNA's 15° instead and Fajr here would move by several minutes. So the method — not the coordinates alone — settles the final time. We also publish times for nearby El Bayadh, Saïda and Mansoûra. Each is only a few minutes off Mecheria's clock.
