Prayer Times in Mataró, Spain

Prayer times in Mataró are worked out each day from the city's coordinates (41.54°N). We use the Muslim World League method, the one followed across Spain. The five times shift by a minute or two each day as the sun moves. The full month is listed below.

Mataró's times use the Muslim World League method. That is the standard followed by most mosques in Spain. They are drawn from Mataró's own coordinates (41.5421°N, 2.4445°E). The schedule updates automatically at midnight, with no manual setting.

How Mataró's prayer times are worked out

From Mataró, the Qibla is 111° from true north. Face east to pray toward the Kaaba. It lies 4,143 km (2,575 miles) away in a straight line across the globe. Every time on this page is worked out from Mataró's own coordinates (41.54°N, 2.44°E), not a national average. That is why Mataró's times and its Qibla differ a little from cities a short distance away.

One local quirk shapes the Mataró timetable: midday prayer does not land at 12:00. Mataró lies well west inside its Madrid time zone. So the sun peaks about 59 minutes after clock noon. Dhuhr follows the sun, not the clock — today it falls at 12:35 PM. Across the year, the fast here runs from about 17h 22m near June down to 10h 50m in December.

The Fajr and Isha angles for Mataró come from the Muslim World League. The Muslim World League method sets Fajr when the sun is 18° below the horizon, and Isha at 17°. Use ISNA's 15° instead and Fajr here would move by several minutes. So the method — not the coordinates alone — settles the final time. We also publish times for nearby Granollers, Mollet del Vallès and Badalona. Each is only a few minutes off Mataró's clock.
