How Beni Enzar's prayer times are worked out

From Beni Enzar, the Qibla is 99° from true north. Face east to pray toward the Kaaba. It lies 4,419 km (2,746 miles) away in a straight line across the globe. Every time on this page is worked out from Beni Enzar's own coordinates (35.26°N, 2.93°W), not a national average. That is why Beni Enzar's times and its Qibla differ a little from cities a short distance away.

One local quirk shapes the Beni Enzar timetable: midday prayer does not land at 12:00. Beni Enzar lies well west inside its Casablanca time zone. So the sun peaks about 20 minutes after clock noon. Dhuhr follows the sun, not the clock — today it falls at 12:57 PM. Across the year, the fast here runs from about 16h 20m near June down to 11h 18m in December.

The Fajr and Isha angles for Beni Enzar come from the Muslim World League. The Muslim World League method sets Fajr when the sun is 18° below the horizon, and Isha at 17°. Use ISNA's 15° instead and Fajr here would move by several minutes. So the method — not the coordinates alone — settles the final time. We also publish times for nearby Melilla, Nador and Al Aaroui. Each is only a few minutes off Beni Enzar's clock.
