Bende's times use the Muslim World League method. That is the standard followed by most mosques in Nigeria. They are drawn from Bende's own coordinates (5.5587°N, 7.6336°E). The schedule updates automatically at midnight, with no manual setting.

How Bende's prayer times are worked out

From Bende, the Qibla is 60° from true north. Face northeast to pray toward the Kaaba. It lies 3,888 km (2,416 miles) away in a straight line across the globe. Every time on this page is worked out from Bende's own coordinates (5.56°N, 7.63°E), not a national average. That is why Bende's times and its Qibla differ a little from cities a short distance away.

Bende sits just 5.56°N of the equator. Its prayer calendar barely shifts across the year. With the Muslim World League method, the longest daily fast is about 13h 43m. The shortest is about 13h 04m. That is a swing of only 0h 39m between June and December. Whenever Ramadan falls, fasting hours here stay much the same — something cities farther from the equator never see.

The Fajr and Isha angles for Bende come from the Muslim World League. The Muslim World League method sets Fajr when the sun is 18° below the horizon, and Isha at 17°. Use ISNA's 15° instead and Fajr here would move by several minutes. So the method — not the coordinates alone — settles the final time. We also publish times for nearby Umuahia, Ohafia-Ifigh and Amaigbo. Each is only a few minutes off Bende's clock.
