Prayer Times in Al Qaţīf, Saudi Arabia

Prayer times in Al Qaţīf are worked out each day from the city's coordinates (26.57°N). We use the Umm al-Qura method, the one followed across Saudi Arabia. The five times shift by a minute or two each day as the sun moves. The full month is listed below.

Al Qaţīf's times use the Umm al-Qura method. That is the standard followed by most mosques in Saudi Arabia. They are drawn from Al Qaţīf's own coordinates (26.5654°N, 50.0089°E). The schedule updates automatically at midnight, with no manual setting.

How Al Qaţīf's prayer times are worked out

From Al Qaţīf, the Qibla is 243° from true north. Face southwest to pray toward the Kaaba. It lies 1,181 km (734 miles) away in a straight line across the globe. Every time on this page is worked out from Al Qaţīf's own coordinates (26.57°N, 50.01°E), not a national average. That is why Al Qaţīf's times and its Qibla differ a little from cities a short distance away.

One local quirk shapes the Al Qaţīf timetable: midday prayer does not land at 12:00. Al Qaţīf lies well east inside its Riyadh time zone. So the sun peaks about 13 minutes before clock noon. Dhuhr follows the sun, not the clock — today it falls at 11:24 AM. Across the year, the fast here runs from about 15h 23m near June down to 11h 53m in December.

The Fajr and Isha angles for Al Qaţīf come from Umm al-Qura University, Makkah. The Umm al-Qura method sets Fajr when the sun is 18.5° below the horizon, and Isha 90 minutes after Maghrib. Use ISNA's 15° instead and Fajr here would move by several minutes. So the method — not the coordinates alone — settles the final time. We also publish times for nearby Tārūt, Sayhāt and Ras Tanura. Each is only a few minutes off Al Qaţīf's clock.
