Prayer Times in Aalborg, Denmark
Prayer times in Aalborg are worked out each day from the city's coordinates (57.05°N). We use the Muslim World League method, the one followed across Denmark. The five times shift by a minute or two each day as the sun moves. The full month is listed below.
Aalborg's times use the Muslim World League method. That is the standard followed by most mosques in Denmark. They are drawn from Aalborg's own coordinates (57.0480°N, 9.9187°E). The schedule updates automatically at midnight, with no manual setting.
How Aalborg's prayer times are worked out
From Aalborg, the Qibla is 136° from true north. Face southeast to pray toward the Kaaba. It lies 4,649 km (2,888 miles) away in a straight line across the globe. Every time on this page is worked out from Aalborg's own coordinates (57.05°N, 9.92°E), not a national average. That is why Aalborg's times and its Qibla differ a little from cities a short distance away.
One local quirk shapes the Aalborg timetable: midday prayer does not land at 12:00. Aalborg lies well west inside its Copenhagen time zone. So the sun peaks about 29 minutes after clock noon. Dhuhr follows the sun, not the clock — today it falls at 1:18 PM. Across the year, the fast here runs from about 18h 46m near June down to 9h 09m in December.
The Fajr and Isha angles for Aalborg come from the Muslim World League. The Muslim World League method sets Fajr when the sun is 18° below the horizon, and Isha at 17°. Use ISNA's 15° instead and Fajr here would move by several minutes. So the method — not the coordinates alone — settles the final time. We also publish times for nearby Randers, Århus and Herning. Each is only a few minutes off Aalborg's clock.

Prayer times for Denmark's Muslim communities
Islam is Denmark's largest minority faith, at around 5% of the population. It is almost entirely a story of immigration: Turkish, Arab (notably Iraqi, Palestinian and Lebanese), Pakistani, Somali and Bosnian communities. These are concentrated in Copenhagen, Aarhus and Odense. Denmark is a secular state with no official timetable, so mosques and Islamic associations publish their own. This page applies the Muslim World League calculation (Fajr 18°, Isha 17°) to the city's own coordinates. Denmark observes Central European Time (UTC+1, and UTC+2 in summer). At its northern latitude the fasting day stretches long in June and shrinks sharply in December.
The Grand Mosque of Copenhagen
Denmark's largest mosque is the Hamad Bin Khalifa Civilisation Center in Copenhagen's Nørrebro, opened in 2014. It was also the first in the country built with a minaret. It was financed with about $27 million from Qatar and named after the former Emir Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. The 6,700 m² complex holds roughly 3,000 worshippers. By agreement with the city, its 20-metre minaret does not broadcast the call to prayer. Denmark's Muslims come from many backgrounds, so mosques differ on Asr. Turkish and Arab congregations generally follow the standard reckoning shown here. South Asian mosques often keep the later Hanafi time.
